CPHI Milan 2026 drew the attention of the global pharmaceutical industry and offered a clear view of where the CRDMO sector is heading. One signal stood out on the show floor: amid supply chain volatility, tightening project timelines, and rising compliance requirements, clients are no longer looking for a single-link service provider — they want a long-term partner with strong overall capabilities, stable capacity, a solid compliance record, and forward-looking vision.
From a solid foundation to dual-engine momentum, Lianhe Aigen is opening a new chapter — with its well-established small molecule business as the ballast, its fast-growing oligonucleotide business as the growth engine, and proven capabilities in peptides and linkers, the company is building an integrated, multi-modality, one-stop CRDMO platform. This exhibition was a full presentation of that strategy to clients worldwide.

On the Show Floor: In-Depth Conversations and Productive Discussions
Throughout the three-day event, Lianhe Aigen's booth (Booth 2F84) maintained a vibrant atmosphere. Clients and partners from Europe, North America, Asia, and beyond visited us one after another — long-standing partners making a special trip, and new prospects drawn by the company's reputation. The team held one-on-one discussions with dozens of clients, covering project progress reviews, emerging needs, and preliminary exchanges on future collaboration.
These conversations reflected a notable shift: amid industry cycles and supply chain uncertainty, clients selecting a CRDMO partner are moving from "comparing price" to "comparing overall strength" — technical depth, capacity stability, and compliance track record have become the more decisive factors. Lianhe Aigen's long-term investment in exactly these dimensions aligns precisely with this trend.
Small Molecules: The Ballast of a Mature Business
For many clients, small molecules remain the mainstay of their pipelines. Building on more than 25 years of industrial heritage from Lianhetech, Lianhe Aigen brings deep experience in the custom development and GMP manufacturing of advanced intermediates and APIs. With over 1,800 employees, including more than 200 R&D scientists, the company serves the world's top 20 pharmaceutical and global Biotech companies. Its Taizhou manufacturing site has passed inspections by major global health authorities — FDA, EMA, NMPA, PMDA, TGA, and MFDS — enabling full-process support from complex synthesis to commercial production.
During the exhibition, clients' core concerns centered on process development and scale-up capabilities, supply chain stability and delivery reliability, regulatory compliance and audit support, the balance between cost and efficiency, and ESG performance. This feedback confirms that clients now evaluate CDMOs across an increasingly diverse set of dimensions, and a single cost advantage is no longer decisive.
Oligonucleotides: The Growth Engine of an Emerging Business
Oligonucleotides are among the fastest-growing modalities in the pharmaceutical industry and a hot topic at this year's exhibition. Lianhe Aigen's oligonucleotide technology platform is already well established: the company has accumulated extensive experience in modified nucleoside and nucleotide synthesis, with phosphorylation reagents and 2'-fluoro or 2'-alkoxy modified ribose monomers producible at scale, and has developed a high-yield, easily purified manufacturing process for GalNAc, a key nucleic acid drug delivery vehicle. The company is now accelerating capacity build-out to support growing demand.
Visitors showed strong interest in this oligonucleotide layout, focusing on capacity scale and construction progress, technology platform and process capabilities, quality systems and regulatory support, and synergy with the existing small molecule platform. This suggests that when evaluating oligonucleotide partners, clients look beyond capacity itself — they value the combined strength of technology, quality, and regulatory capabilities.
Multi-Modality and Sustainability: Pillars of Differentiation
Beyond small molecules and oligonucleotides, Lianhe Aigen also holds proven expertise in peptides and linkers: its peptide platform designs protection strategies and cleavage methods tailored to peptide length, synthesis scale, and amino acid characteristics, while its linker platform has delivered peptide- and PEG-based linkers from gram to kilogram scale in support of ADC and PROTAC development. Together with enabling platforms such as flow chemistry and solid-state chemistry, this multi-modality layout allows the company to provide flexible, integrated support for projects across therapeutic areas.
Meanwhile, the EcoVadis Platinum rating (September 2026, top 1% of all assessed companies worldwide) has become another point of differentiation, reflecting clients' growing emphasis on sustainable supply chains.
Closing: From Exhibition Consensus to Long-Term Win-Win
CPHI Milan 2026 has come to a close, but the journey of collaboration has just begun. Lianhe Aigen looks forward to continuing to work hand in hand with global clients and partners, turning every conversation and every point of consensus from the exhibition into long-term, win-win outcomes. Whether through continued cultivation in small molecules or accelerated investment in emerging modalities such as oligonucleotides, Lianhe Aigen is committed to being a trusted long-term partner — with reliable technology, stable capacity, and professional service. We look forward to seeing you again, and to walking together on the path of innovative drug development.
